The Man Behind the College Rankings

I’ve been in New Orleans this week attending the annual conference of the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
At the conference I’ve been doing short interviews with college experts whom I think you’ll enjoy hearing from. I’m going to start out today with an interview that I conducted with Robert Morse, who is the man behind US News & World Report’s college rankings.

Do you love the college rankings or hate them? How do you think families should use the rankings? I’d love to hear what you think by using the comment box below.

  1. Hi Lynn,
Thank you for posting this interview. I really appreciate that you raise discussion points here, and in your blog, in general.
Our family has used the rankings as one (and only one) data point among a range of resources.
I take issue with the input data and the “arms race” aura of The List.
    Take care.
PS A double hurrah for raising the issue of indebtedness as a measurement factor!

    1. Hi Claire,
Glad you liked the interview. I thought I should start mixing up videos with my regular blog posts and being at the conference made it easy to record some interviews. I’ll post others in the near future.
